Create a market — the top-level category leads, vendors, and products are organized under. See Markets Explained for what a market controls.
Before you start
You need the Manage CRM Settings right, and your organization must have CRM enabled.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Client Relations Manager → Markets & Fields.
- Click + Add Market in the top right.
- In the Create New Market dialog, fill in:
- Title — required, 2–255 characters.
- Description — optional.
- Sales Type — choose Service or Product.
- Sub-Type — appears once Sales Type is chosen:
- Under Service: Residential Mortgage, Commercial Mortgage, or Custom.
- Under Product: Custom is the only option.
- This defaults to Custom automatically when you pick a Sales Type — change it if the market is mortgage-related.
- Company Tracking — required. Choose Track Company Name or Individual Only.
- Enable quotes — optional toggle. Turning it on reveals a Default terms field (the starting wording for every new quote in this market).
- Default commission — optional. Pick an amount type (Percent or Amount), a figure, and a payment type (One-time or Recurring) — or leave all three blank. This pre-fills (but doesn't lock) the commission on approved opportunity reservations in this market.
- If this market's Sales Type/Sub-Type is Service → Residential Mortgage, a MLOS Integration dropdown appears (No MLOS Integration / KamoMLS / MeridianLink / Encompass by ICE, the last one not yet available) with a Configure button next to it. This is disabled until the market is saved once — leave it for a separate pass; see How to Connect a Market's Loan Origination System
- Click Create.
What you'll see
The market appears in the Active Markets list on the Markets & Fields tab, and becomes selectable wherever a market is chosen — creating a lead, adding a vendor, and configuring an automated import endpoint.
