Hydrates from templateApi.get, saves via templateApi.update. Category dropdown is API-driven with inline category-create affordance. Variables picker reads from variableContracts.ts (declared contracts for REQUIRED template keys; common set for CUSTOM). REQUIRED / SYSTEM row editing shows the appropriate warning banner. Preview button opens the backend-rendered EmailTemplatePreview modal. Part of SP2.
