Two colleagues who have played once have a board together for good, so the chat entry stops offering to introduce them. It reads "Open your game" and goes straight there — a finished game opens on its final position with Play again on it. Only a pair who have never played are offered a start, and only they see the confirmation. "Game in progress — open it" described a state; this describes what the click does, which is the same thing whatever the state. The nudge is a megaphone beside the other controls, and it appears only where somebody could actually be away: a game in play, against a person, and not your turn to move. Inside its cooldown it dims and says when it opens rather than vanishing and leaving somebody wondering whether they imagined it — and it stops lifting on hover, because a control that will not respond should not promise it will. The countdown ticks once a second and ONLY while a cooldown is running, so a member with nothing to wait for pays for nothing. It is a courtesy, not the limit: the limit is the server's, and it refuses regardless of what the button believes. silently taken the last one and it would have worked, which is exactly why the dead first declaration was worth removing rather than leaving for somebody to puzzle over.
