`potTotal` and the component-level `t` were the only readers of the pot block I moved into the chip layer, and both survived it — read by nothing, flagged by no compiler. `WaitingLine` keeps its own translator; that one is still used. Found by the session working the choreography, who spotted `potTotal` while reading past it. tsc will not say: an unused const is legal, and the felt had no lint error to hide it among.
